About Us
Diya Foundation is a social organization committed to creating a just and civil society, particularly for marginalized and underserved communities. Founded in 2011 and registered under the Societies Act in Meghalaya. Diya’s vision is to build a society that is self-reliant, sustainable, and upholds the dignity of every individual. To achieve this, its mission focuses on enhancing community capacities, promoting active participation, institution-building, and ensuring sustainable use of resources. Diya’s primary approach is empowering women, recognizing their critical role in sustainable development. Through capacity-building, Diya Foundation equips individuals and communities with the skills and resources they need to improve their livelihoods. This includes bridging the gaps in access to livelihood, education, health services, and economic opportunities. Diya also works towards building community institutions i.e. SHG, FIG, PO, FPO’s that promotes collective decision-making and community-driven development. With a dedicated team of 42 full-time professionals, Diya Foundation is focused on delivering tangible impacts, transforming the lives of small and marginal, tribal and other backward households in the working geographies.
