About Us
| 1. History and Genesis: Swang Dwang was founded in the year 2014 by a group of passionate social workers and activists who recognized the need to address the social and economic challenges faced by marginalized communities in the remote hilly regions like Tamenglong and Noney districts in Manipur. The founders were motivated by their deep connection and a shared vision of empowering vulnerable communities through grassroots initiatives, observing huge number of youths drop out due to the poverty. The drop out youths are into armed group, drug abuse, into corrupt politics, and migration to cosmopolitan cities ending up with indecent jobs particularly young girls who are even under aged.
1. SD is grounded and inspired to work with marginalised and disadvantaged/unprivileged. 2. To be aware of the natural resources to individuals & communities. 3. To Strive for sustainable livelihood and equity. 4. To be responsible towards the socio-economic progress. 5. To Realise one’s God-given potential and contribute positively to family, community and society. |
