About Us
| The People’s Resource Development Association (PRDA) is a grassroots, non-political, and secular non-profit organization based in Bishnupur, Manipur. It originated as the Young Ishok Makha Club, formed by a group of like-minded youth dedicated to helping communities affected by the floods caused by the construction of the Ithai Barrage. Driven by a shared sense of responsibility and a desire to expand their outreach, the group formally registered as a development organization in 1996, adopting the name People’s Resource Development Association to reflect a broader mission of inclusive community development. PRDA focuses on thematic areas like livelihood promotion, environmental conservation, rights and entitlements, Education, Health and disaster and relief. Its programs are rooted in community participation and empowerment, targeting vulnerable groups such as vulnerable communities, BPL, women, youth, and smallholder farmers across Bishnupur and neighboring districts. The organization has also been actively involved in peace building initiatives. The Mission of PRDA is to Strengthening & Capacitation to the key leaders, NGOs, CBOs, SHGs & Farmers in the process of networking development & advocacy The Vision of PRDA: Creating sustainable, resourceful & healthy environment where in people co-exist with strong value system & live harmony PRDA has been recognized for its dedication and impact. It received awards from the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) for outstanding voluntary service at both the district and state levels. In 2012, the organization was also awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS) for operating one of the best performing Community Care Centres (CCC) in the state. These honors reflect PRDA’s continued commitment to excellence in community service and development. Registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, and recognized under 12A, 80G, and FCRA, PRDA is well-positioned to collaborate with both national and international development agencies in its ongoing mission to uplift marginalized communities and promote sustainable development in Manipur. |
