About Us
AKINCHAN is a non-profit organization established in 1997 and registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860. Headquartered in Guwahati, Assam, the organization is dedicated to building a healthier, more inclusive, and self-reliant society through sustainable development initiatives.
With a strong commitment to healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, education, environmental conservation, and social justice, AKINCHAN works to empower underprivileged communities, particularly women, children, and marginalized groups. Over the years, the organization has implemented a wide range of programmes, including health camps, entrepreneurship and skill development initiatives, financial and digital literacy programmes, livelihood promotion, and environmental awareness activities.
Since 2008, AKINCHAN has been implementing the HIV/AIDS Targeted Intervention Project in Nagaon district with the support of the Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS) and NACO, Government of India, providing essential healthcare and support services to vulnerable communities.
Guided by the values of accountability, integrity, compassion, transparency, and innovation, AKINCHAN continues to work towards creating sustainable opportunities and improving the quality of life for communities across Assam.
