| Manipur North Economic Development Association (MANEDA) was registered in 1991 as an NGO under the Manipur Societies Registration Act 1989, for the Economic Development of marginalized and vulnerable tribal groups with the mission to empower tribal communities through a holistic approach that addresses their Socio-economic challenges. T Peter Rangnamei, a member of a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) and notably the first person from his tribe to graduate from Delhi University in 1992. After completing his studies, Peter returned to his Hometown, deeply aware of the social, economic, and cultural hardships faced by the tribal people. He initially joined the All-Naga Students Association Manipur (ANSAM), a powerful student body advocating for tribal interests.
