About Us
| Goonj is a non-profit organisation founded by Anshu Gupta in 1999 with the aim of addressing poverty and inequality by turning urban surplus into a resource for rural development. It began with a focus on collecting and redistributing used clothing to communities in need.
Over the years, Goonj expanded its work beyond clothing to include disaster response, rural development, menstrual health, education, livelihoods, and community-led development. Its flagship initiatives include Cloth for Work, Rahat, School-to-School, and Not Just a Piece of Cloth (NJPC). |
